2002 radio swap
Bought an 02 with 18000 miles. Has factory radio with 12 disk changer in the trunk which is not working. I've seen several posts throwing down on this changer in the trunk setup. I recently purchased a single cd factory radio.
Anybody know if this could be a plug and play swap?

I thought all 02s had a single CD radio? At any rate, you should be able to put the one you bought right in....the trunk changer plugs in the back and you can unplug it if you like.

Winner 2020 C7 of the Year - Modified
I’m fairly certain that what you are wanting to do will work.

Any factory radio has to be from another C5, 1997-2004. Radios that are from other GM models the look the same will not work.
You can swap a C5 cassette radio for a CD one from any year to any other year C5.

Otherwise, as mentioned above, everything should be fine.

A factory C5 Delco radio should work with the 12 CD changerh
My 98 C5 had a Delco cassette radio and a 12 CD changer in the trunk. The radio was damaged and I bought a Delco CD radio from a forum member. It works just like the original cassette radio.
The poster who said you need to make sure it has the 2 siamese connectors is correct. Even though the connectors are in slightly different locations the wiring is the same and the new radio should run the 12 CD changer OK. You might have to unplug the 12 CD changer in the trunk, wait a few minutes, then replug the connector with the radio OFF. The CD changer should go thru the several minute process of loading and unloading all 12 CDs before it will function correctly. They are known for occasionally getting out of sync with the radio.
