Most common problem is the horn membrane in the steering wheel. The membrane is about 55.00-65.00 bucks and you will need to install it yourself or find someone to do it for you. The dealer will only replace it with the air bag and that gets into big bucks. Google has lots of video and how to if you search.
Thanks! Looks like something I can do. 2 questions: Do you know if the airbag has to be deactivated in some way before removal?
And do you know what size trox bit is used to remove the screws holding the airbag to the steering wheel?
Anyone have a part # for the horn membrane or know where I can get one? As BG said, I went to the dealer and they don't even have a separate PN for it....
I'd have to buy the entire Airbag unit which I do not need.

I gave you a link to get the membrane on my original post (click on "You can get it here"). I'm not home, but I'll try to get you the torx sizes later.
You'll want to follow the instructions on removing the steering wheel (when removing the airbag). Disconnect the battery, wait, disconnect the 2 yellow connectors under the dash next to the column. Unbolt the airbag, remove the two connectors behind the bag. It's a good idea not to accidently send a static electric shock to the connectors on the back. Maybe a piece of black tape to prevent that from happening.
I did this membrane job a couple weeks ago. Not hard, just take your time.
