Default Torque tube (driveshaft orientation)

Before i knock this thing back in to put the large snap ring, does it matter which way the cap sits inside the tube? The thing I am pointing at

Nope, that’s simply a carrier/housing for the two bearings it contains. The orientation won’t impact the function of the inner shaft of the torque tube. Just be certain the snap ring is fully seated and you’ll be good to go. That housing will not move/spin once fully installed.

Awesome. Got the dang thing back in and snap ring too...then forgot the stupid plastic screws. Gotta pull back apart 😂

I wouldn’t waste your time if you’re already far past that step! Those plastic screws don’t serve much of a purpose. I’ve read on here that they merely protect the threads so they can be used for a “special” GM tool used to pull the assembly. Versus hitting the opposite end with a rubber mallet to pursued it out.

Dont quote me on that. But I wouldn’t worry about putting them back in...
