So I read a few places the high pressure power steering line is hard to replace...
I did it today in about 40 minutes. Dont have pictures, but im just going to describe how I did it.
1. Remove driver side wheel
2. 18 mm wrench to loosen rack side. stuck wrench behind alternator and forward to reach bolt. it was on pretty tight, but it budged with some effort. i then loosened with 2 fingers, reaching around the brake lines.
3. 5/8 wrench to loosen pump side. i stuck wrench from front near radiator towards the line. i had to keep flipping wrench it as i loosened <1/8 turn at a time, after about 2 turns, it was finger loose.
tips,
brake cleaner the fittings and area around before removing.
wiggling the line when replacing it frees up the threads, go at tight as possible with hand then 1/2 turn with a wrench
replace the orings on the line before trying to assemble
That HP line was the 1st thing I had to replace when buying my car in March of '17. It took awhile to figure out how it wanted to go on but finally got it done. LOL < an age thing > but would have to go study it again to remember what all I did on the job as per steps.
