hey guys i need some help here. today my passenger window (1999 coupe) decided not to roll down. when i push the button i can here the relay "clicking" but the window will not move. i researched the forum and tried the idea of holding the button down and slamming the door with no avail! i even tried pushing the button and gently wiggling the window and pushing on it with no relief. is my window motor burnt out? if so what now? pic would be helpful along with any ideas on fixing the problem without replacing too much!
Thanks. :mad
The classic symptoms of a defunct window motor. It is fairly common for the passenger side to crap out (not used as often as the driver side). Short of that, I supposed you could try cracking open the door and making sure that all of the internal wiring is connected ok. Unfortunately, I really think it's the motor.
Quite a few members have successfully gotten the window motor to resume working by holding the switch in the up/down position (whichever applies) and smack the inside door panel several sharp blows with the heel of your hand.
One of the techs posted that the right window often quits simply from disuse. If you get it going with the suggestion above then, "exercise" it once a week.
Oops, should have read your post with more attention. I see you already gave it a whack with no positive results.
how much did that run you? is that something that i can do myself?? i really dont feel like spending too much money on this problem if it is something i can fix.
thanks !!!

Just replaced the passenger side window motor with the same symptoms.
I have a 2001 that is exactly 2 years old with 19,500 miles. Dealer replaced under warranty, but the ticket gave the part price as $285.[
