MN6 or M12?

When looking at a 6 speed lying on a garage floor, is there any easy way to tell if it is out of a C5 verses a Z06?

I would say that there is a part number or model number on the case.

and by the way, a Z06 is a C5. :rolleyes:

Looking at that tranny on ebay huh? :confused: Me too, I posted the numbers on the z06 forum, no replies.

Actually I was thinking of putting one on EBay myself, but I am not sure which it is and would like to be able to identify it myself. Hope I can get a good reply to my question.

Do a search on the Z06 section on this forum. The same question was asked and answered several months ago.

Someone posted the numbers on the metal tag on the transmissons would indicate the C5 application.

M6 1386-000-023
M12 1386-000-025

Don't know the accuracy of the information, but the post mentioned the information came from Tremac.
