I keep getting this code. The check engine light comes on, but when I check the codes they say H........I get no C codes. I know its a misfire code but my wires and plugs are pretty new and seem ok. Any thoughts or advice.
Have you added headers recently? The heat from them can cause a misfire. I put mine on myself and cracked a plug doing it. I got the same code and couldnt figure out why untill my dealer saw the plug was cracked. I bought new wires too to help from the heat. I suggest replacing the plugs and go to wires next if that doesnt help.
Yes I did just put headers on and I figured it was related. My car was prone to random misfires prior to the header install, but a code was never set. I guess I will look into better wires and new plugs. I currently run the NGK55s and stock wires....
If the plugs were left in during the header install, like i did on mine, then the header might have hit into a plug and cracked it. I also would only get history codes...i got one current one when driving and i checked it right when the engine light came on. When i got new plugs i put in the NGK 55s and MSD wires and have not had one misfire since then. I think the plugs and wires will straighten you out.
After installing a new cam, I starting getting the check engine light and the misfire code. I had to raise the in gear engine idle. It takes about three misfires before the check engine light comes on.
