I will start.
2003 Z06 M12
First impression is that the car does feel like it is pulling harder. I have not dynoed yet for evidence of HP and TQ gains. I like the cags defeat and the ability to control the cooling fans. Downside at this point is not knowing if I actaully received gains and not knowing what the price of custom downloads will cost and also what was done to make the performance tune for my year and model. Overall, at this point I am satisfied but that can change if I find out I did not gain any HP with the pre-programmed performance tune.
I got mine Wednesday. I sent it back Friday. Y2K A4 3.42 rearend. It made no difference. Johan/Diablo is suppose to correct the bug and send a new program back to me. :sleep:
I think all these posts should be moved to C5 Scan & Tune. They would be easier to find. :cheers:
I ordered one and it was not mailed as originally promised on Friday, as it has some major bugs for 2002 A4's. And tonight.....WHAM.....more bugs. It is clearly in its infancy state, and appears that Diablosport has failed to properly pretest unit and provide a formal contigency plan for errors. :mad :mad :mad
I got mine last Saturday and sent it back yesterday. No concrete gains. A dyno can even fluctuate 1-2 HP between runs easily. Not worth $425. My HPP3 gave me much more performance on my heads and cam 99 TA.
First off DiabloSport is trying to get the best product out...in which I hear their Ford stuff(Cobra-Lightning)are awesome and make a big difference.They will eventually have the same sucess with their GM stuff.Bob(16again) and I can vouch for their comitment to a great product but when it comes to computers we all know are very tricky and don't always work out the first time.I know Johan and Willie and they are working VERY hard on this.....Remember most of the guys here have been very impatient on the arrival of the Predator.....peace :D
Wow. It looks like almost everyone is unhappy with the product. I read there will be free software upgrades. Is that true? Is that for every unit? Does anyone know about this?

Got mine last Thursday. Took the plunge Saturday and plugged in the Predator. On the first 2 attempts to load the performance tune I got the "Script/Write" errors. The third time eveything seemed to work OK except for the '02 Revlimiter and Shift Pressure issues.
I did adjust the parameters that I could using James recommendations. Noticed quite a difference in throttle response and overall pulling power.
Overall I think this will be an excellent tool for those of us that cannot leave anything alone. Would like to have some kind of target date for the download capabilities. If we send them back to Diablo, who is paying for all of the shipping charges? If I keep the unit in excess of 30 days and it still does not function properly with my C5, what will my options be?
Im awaiting dyno testing on mine. Preliminary observations: car pulls harder; changed fan settings (got confused on fan 1 and 2 for a moment); less popping on deceleration (could had cured car's rich A/F mixture); i like the SCAN feature, i sure want to know my car's vitals on a weekly basis :D ;
I would benefit on this product if I had an A4.
I would give it a chance and explore its potentials. Im sure James and Diablosport would come up with downloadable updates on the system.
I love mine! The initial changes from the base tune were not too discernible, but once I made a few mods to the base program *WOW* I am truly impressed. The car pulls very strongly now and the A4 shifts great. I used to have a 5sp. Mustang with 3.73's and my Vette pulls every bit as hard in fourth on the highway as the Stang did in fifth.
I'm very pleased! Sure, there are issues with the '02 programming and we're not really "ready" to start downloading stuff (not that there's anything out there to download yet anyways) - but I think for the money, IT'S WELL WORTH IT.
I believe once a little more time has passed all the little programming things will get sorted out. There's also a few more features being added to the Predator which I'm sure will be made available in the near future. Right James?? :yesnod:
From what I hear not too many guys with the MN6 are pleased, but guys with A4's should really be lining up for this one. It really made a noticeable improvement in my car. Matter of fact, I took a co-worker/friend for a ride after the base tune was installed and then again after I "tweaked" it a little - We were both really impressed with the noticeable change!
Anyone with other questions are welcomed to IM and I'll give you whatever insights I can. I'm certainly not a mechanic, just a car guy that likes to tinker and with all the things I've done with cars over the years - this was a walk in the park for a noticeable improvement. Heck, if I go with gears on the Vette then having the ability to adjust the computer is going to be yet another big plus!
I still haven't even used the scan tool portion of the Predator yet & I still feel it's worth every penny. And as an added bonus we have been getting a TON of advice from James, his willingness to help speaks volumes for the kind of people we're dealing with here.
As posted above I have a Z06 which is manual (DAH!) and I am happy with the SOTP feel. I have not dynoed yet but can almost sware the car is pulling harder and spinning the wheels more often in 1st, 2nd and 3rd. I actually haven't had one problem with it. The only thing I got screwed up with was the fans being switched. Fan1 high and fan2 low but other then that works great. Hope to get some numbers soon to post.
Any other 2003 Z06's with the predator which can confirm what I am saying?
