I got the threads fixed and was able to install the plug without having to use any kind of insert. I used a chaser which I bought off the net:

I liked because I was able to use a socket wrench without having to use a socket as you can see from the pic. A very handy tool for times like this and for only $5 you can't beat it... :cheers:
