Default compression calculator.

Hello,

Probably a dumb question but I dont know how to use the compression calculators.

I have a 2002 LS1. we did a full rebuild on the car with forged internals. with everything else being the same how much did my compression change from the stock 10.2:1

65cc Mamo 220 heads
-3cc forged pistons
cometic .40 gasket I think.

thanks guys

You would need the following to complete the formula, Piston Stroke Length, Cylinder Bore Size and Piston Deck Clearance. Also, you show the Piston as a negative number, are they domed in or out or are they valve reliefs, doomed in will increase cylinder volume as would valve reliefs, doomed out would decrease cylinder volume? I used some basic numbers to compute the following... CR based on the following numbers, Finished bore size 3.998 assuming you bored it over .010, Stroke 3.622, Gasket thickness .040, Gasket bore 4.010, Camber volume 65cc, Valve reliefs +3 (I know you showed them as a negative but when I plugged them in as a negative it brought your compression up to 11.92:1) and piston to deck clr as -.010. With those numbers your compression would be appox 11.04:1.

Like I said though this is based off numbers I'm guessing at and really just wanted to give you an idea of what is required to compute it correctly. Here is a link to a on line calculator you can use once you get the actual numbers for your car. http://www.csgnetwork.com/compcalc.html

I really like Zealautowerks, Awesome for compression/rod:stroke ratios/piston speed&acceleration/ finding piston to deck clearances etc.... I just wish they'd make the same calculator preset to LS based engines. You can just manually punch your information in there though (and x2 if you want displacement).
