Default '97 AC Problem

So I've noticed a bit of a strange problem: my AC seems to work better stopped at a light than when the car is moving. This seems counter-intuitive to me; I've been in plenty of cars where the AC is bad while you're stopped but works well while you're moving.

Any thoughts from the Corvette brain-trust?

Check your AC drive belt. It may need to be changed. Turns compressor at low speeds but slips once engine rpms pick up. If you have the car in neutral and rev the engine can you hear the belt slipping?

So you nailed it. Not only is the belt slipping, but the tensioner is out of alignment. It kind of reminds me of one of those little civics with too much negative wheel camber.

THANK YOU!
