Doing some modifying to my c5, going to custom fab change the angle of my radiator. I have my own fab shop. So I'll be doing a lot of modifying.
I have a 175k mile ls1 and a A4. Been debating modifying in a 4l80e. (I am aware of the trans tunnel modifications) since once my ls1 gives out, I have a cammed ls3 ready to go in
I found a few great deals on some A6 trannys. My question is can I eliminate the C5 pcm and run a C6 ECM/TCM to run the engine and trans as a stand alone.
Sorry in advance if I'm all over the place, I'm researching all I can at the moment.
When people add aftermarket EFI systems in C5s, they often leave the stock PCM in place so that it can provide the dashboard instrument cluster with the signals that it needs. I don't know the specifics but I presume you'd be facing the same problems with C6 electronics.
