I am interested in getting this hood very soon. I would appreciate your insight to the questions below:
1. How was the fit & finish of the hood when you received it?
2. How much work was required to make it perfect for your car?
3. How much does the hood weigh?
4. How much water get's into the engine from the front vents?
1) Bought the hood used, so fit and finish will be a direct result of your body and paint man. The fit can be adjusted to fit perfectly with the latches on either side of the inner fenders.
2) Weight can be found on the DRM website, I have no idea.
3) Water has been no problem in over a year, it falls harmlessly to the ground and does not come in contact with any major electrical components ( I do not use any hood blanket with it).
4) I am completely satisfied with the hood. It is aggressive but not overly boorish.
You can go to my website to see the hood on my car. You can also go to the DRM website and look at it there. http://www.dougrippie.com The hoods on the DRM website fit perfectly. I wish mine did.
Mine fits without problem. It was fit and installed at DRM and it looked great the first time I saw it. Water is no issue. DRM's hood is a functional heat extractor tested to over 180 mph. Heck, I personally tested mine to 178 twice. :yesnod:
