Initially it will but the PCM will adjust !!...I initially purchased a Vararam but sent it back due to VERY poor fitment...bought an SLP Blackwing instead...weren’t you having MAF issues ??
When adding a Veraram you are getting ambient air passing thru the MAF, it is more dense than engine bay air and give a slightly more oxygen rich charge into each piston cycle. The higher the engine bay heat the greater the impact on the engine management system. On certain cars and certain days this may cause a lean condition. The engine uses the Long Term Fuel Trims to determine several engine management functions. By adding colder air into the engine these may be less fuel injected to burn it. This can cause a righer combustion which the PCM tries to correct and sometime it will cause poping of the exhaust on decel and erratic idle at times. GM set certain values into the PCM for all the conditions they tested and by changing air intakes, headers, etc they allowed the computer to make small changes to the system. However, there are limits as to how much the PCM can adjust. LTFT's run best at 0 for most cars and can be plus or minus 25 and not throw an engine code (0 LTFT means 14.7:1 air/fuel ratio) If you car was running a little rich and you added a Veraram it would run a little better than before, however if it was lean to begin with it might be running lean enough to cause some of the above problems.
Thanks guys for all the great info..so what i found..msd wires second set 1 boot had a chunk of rubber missing burnt on the header re doing things now with header wrap..replaced both upstream sensors..back to original plugs and wires. When i used my tech2 and looked at my gragh i was getting random misfires i believe it was the wires. Also found all bolts to intake mainfold loose. And last not sure if it affected anything but i noticed what looked like a header leak. The gasket had black on the bottom just below the port..so we shall see..
With those leaks...intake and exhaust... will make those fuel trims run pretty positive...is that why you were asking about the fuel trims ??
yes..i posted a pic of my hp tuner graph in a recent thread..throttle response i believe you posted in that one..if you get a chance check it out please o2s,st,lt look funky

Now have you fixed those issues with those leaks yet ??...not worth looking at O2's and fuel trims until you get that resolved !!...if so can you take a screenshot of O2's and fuel trims at idle and at 3000 RPM if they're funky looking. If your car has a "tune" and I think it does if I can remember I'd recommend your tuner look at your PID's !!

yes almost done..i have to figure out a way to keep my wires from rubbing against the header what a bitch! Lol...
