Default Corvette C5 help

HELP !!

I have a 1999 corvette C5 auto LS1. The problem is that when i got this car recently, everytime i use to start the car and put in reverse it use to drop idle and turn off untill its warmed up properly and same goes if i put in Drive,. It has a cam which previous owner did it but he doesnt know which one. I got it tuned with Hptuner from a local guy. Now the problem is that everytime i start the car it goes perfectly in reverse Also in drive but when i put in Parking it dies everytime and than its hard to start the car again and once its start it will die again* in seconds.. and the other problem is after getting it tuned , everytime i take it out and give full throttle the temperature goes from 90 to 100. Never happened before..

With a cammed car normally a tuner will cut timing in a box of cells where the tachometer is (and just above) at idle.

Take it back to the tuner to be redone, and if he can’t, find another tuner.

Your issues are completely within the tune and nothing we can type will help.

Your car requires plugging in and tuning it.

There are several things you do for idle on the spark tables and also the air.

The temps you posted don’t make sense to be honest. What temps are those? Where are you seeing that displayed?

Regardless without having your tune opened up on a computer in front of us where we can scroll through all the various tabs/pages, there’s no way to know what’s been done and what needs to be changed.

Just a quick side question.....Where does one go to get their Vette "tuned"? Thanks!

Typically a professional tuner has a dyno. Depending where you are you may need to drive to a larger city (if you’re rural).

Here in Atlanta I know of 4 or 5 performance shops that offer dyno tuning. I’d call one and make an appointment.

Another option is a mail order tune from places like ECS and CoW which are both vendors here. While not a perfect tune, it will be 90% accurate compared the a dyno tune which is tailored to your car as it’s actually running. Typically you remove your ECM and mail it, they program it and mail it back.

You need to find a tuner or purchase an HPTunerrs interface. There are a lot of people that would be able to help you if you can pull the tune off the car. But, the time and money to get HPtuners and actually figure out what’s going on is probably not worth it over finding a good local guy.

I’m guessing your problem is in your park airflow, startup friction air adder, and possibly open loop fuel table. Hard to know without seeing the tune and logging. Good luck.
