Replacing C5 starter- anything else while I am in there?
Wondering if there is anything else I should replace "while I am in there". Looks like there is a crank sensor and maybe O2 sensor/ Just wondering at 140K if those more experienced than me, have any suggestions.
The crank sensor and O2’s...all 4 of them and the CKP with OEM !!...also there is a ground (G106 I believe) above the starter...wire brush the terminals ends and the block !!...also clean all the terminal ends at the solenoid the same way too !!

Thank you for the information! Great info, I will get things ordered today.
I know you said you are changing your starter, from my experience beware of the Bosch starter. When it was cold it didn't disengage properly (most likely needed shiming, but I didn't want to go that route) when warm it was fine, I ended up rebuilding the original starter problem solved.

Thank you for the heads up. Unfortunately for me I ordered a Bosch starter thinking it was a good brand. Now second guessing and maybe sending it back...
Make sure the starter you install has the equal length bolts, rather than the staggered. This prevents the blocks from breaking on the starter mounts if hydro lock occurs. Bill Curlee can fill you in.

I don't think Hydrolock is the root cause of breaking the starter mounting surface on the block (Hydrolock would break the crank and bend the rods) it's couple force caused by the starter under normal starting and improper torque during installation of the starter.
