I finally got around to repairing the disconnected vacuum line that was left or pulled off when the GM dealer replaced the oil pressure sending unit.
Royal PITA to connect a tiny, way too short vacuum line. They must connect that vacuum line at the factory assembly line on the rolling chassis before they put the body on. I extended mine by about a foot.
Cold idle back to normal. Runs good, really pulls strong. Not so much exhaust popping on decel. AC vents now working properly again. No more hot on the driver's side and cold on the passengers. I had warm air coming out the drivers side even with the AC off. No more. The problem must have been vacuum related.
Now I'm waiting to see if my Air Pump faults come back. Someone posted a picture of the system removed and lying in a pile and it looked like there was a vacuum solenoid in the mix.
Thanks for the info.
