Body off? or not
I’m about to do a list of mods on a C5 Z06, in a 20x20 shop with no lift. I do have a bunch of jacks car dolly’s and stands. My question is would it be easier to just remove the chassis from the car or should I just do it all in the car?
Mods:
Magnuson SC
Cam
Valve springs and trunion upgrade
long tubes and exhaust/doing bypass tube on titanium —whilst mufflers off
RST multi-disc clutch assembly
I watched a vid on the clutch and looked like he was just a hour or so from removeing the whole chassis. I saw another vid where they had the chassis out in 5ish hours. The clutch, the cam the hood get taken Off, a bunch of stuff comes off the front to mount the Heat exchanger, the argument for removing the chassis is pretty strong. O and I would have the manifolds off too because the exhaust.
What do you guys think? Would it be that much easier to do the springs and cam and clutch with it out I can see a bunch of stuff would still have to disassembled to do the clutch when the chassis out... that could as much a pain in the *** to line up as in the car?? I dunno I’m in new territory...
Thanks

Having done it both ways many times I almost never lift the body off now days. I would knock out the clutch and then move onto the cam and blower.
