I have the dreaded right fuel tank sending unit problem so I need to replace it (I have tried all of the remedies but none have worked). I purchased a sending unit but the directions don't list the gasket bolt torque. They look to be a # 8 bolt size so they are small. Does anyone have the torque specs?

If you buy a new gasket it will be clearly written on the instructions. Well at least the one from AC Delco G25.......But it should be 62 inch pounds
No torque given in instructions. The machine screws appear to be #8 32 TPI. I looked up the torque on the Federal Screw Products torque chart and they list it as 19 in-lb for SS. Not sure if that is right for a rubber gasket though.

Thanks for the link. 62 in-lb is the torque you would typically see on a 1/4" machine screw. The screws that came with my sending unit appear to be #8 (a #8 32 TPI nut fits it). The directions you posted appear to be for the left tank fuel pump gasket. They may use larger screws of this. My unit is for the right tank sending unit.

I have always just snugged those up by hand, no need for a torque wrench just don't get hulk on them and you should be fine... I tighten them in a few steps using a criss cross pattern pretty much like doing heads, front/rear covers, oil pan, etc, just to make sure it is going on evenly
I know this is an older thread but for anyone else looking for the torque specs they are 5.8 nm +/- 1.0 nm.
There is a torque sequence as well. I will try to post a picture shorty.
