Default Aftermath of magnetic shock replacement

I have an Anniversary Edition roadster. All shocks were leaking, could not replace the factory magnetic ones because of cost, so went with aftermarket, which I am very happy with. However, now car will not go over 80mph and has constant warning message. Whit is the fix ? The mechanic left the wires dangling. One supplier had a fix but it didn't apply to 2003. HELP !

You need to find someone who has a Tech 2 or a dealership/ Corvette specialist to delete the F45 RPO code from the BCM...might cost you around $100.00 or so !!

The price of new F-55 MAGNETIG Shock has come WAAAAY down in the past year or so. The F-55 system is heads and shoulders above the old F-45 CRAP. Too bad you didn't opt for some replacement F-55 Shocks.

That being said, as mentioned above, you MUST program out the F-45/F-55 RPO from the BCM using the GM Tech2 or have the DIC Messages , DTCs and limitations on speed
. Most dealers will not do the RPO removal as for the GM Safety reliability legal issues. Find a shop or local forum member with a TECH2 to do the procedure for you.

NOPE, you CAN NOT use simulators to trick the F-55 system like you could do to the F-45 system.

Program out the BCM RPO and drive on.

When you find someone with a Tech 2, this is how it is done...
1. Hook up Tech 2, turn car on, make sure module in the rear is plugged in. Do not unplug the rear module.
2. Use Tech 2 to delete the F45 option (F55 does not appear on the menu screen, use F45).
3. Save new configuration.
4. Do not turn car off, do not remove Tech 2. Go to the module in the rear of the car, unplug the grey connector (the widest one), leave any other plug(s) in. [leave the other 1 (F45) or 2 (F55) plugged in]
5. Turn off car, leave Tech 2 plugged in.
6. Remove remaining plugs from module in the rear of car. [never plug them back in again, if you do the F45/F55 turns on automatically]
7. Turn car on to verify the "max speed 80 mph" is gone.
8. Unplug Tech 2.

Got much better ride when did not get runflat tires. With shocks could not really tell, but now can't switch between touring track. Never used track anyway.
Ride with the Bilsteins is fine, car sits a little lower.

who needs to drive over 80 anyway... they also make simulators to keep the codes off but I think turning them off with a tech2 is the better way to go

Simulators work with the F-45, but not with the F-55. With the latter the only way to do that is with a Tech2

didn't know that, scratch that then... even if they would work the tech2 is still the better option since the sims can potentially fail like any other part

Is the 2003 Anniversary Edition an F-45 or F-55 system?
