I have recently traded my 95 C4 in on a 98 coupe. It only has 7800 miles on it, and it looks and runs great. however, I'm having a problem with the power seat rails(driver and passenger). When accelerating the seat moves back about a 1/2'' and forward when braking...does anyone have a fix for this?
That's a trip to the dealership. There's a TSB on it. It being as old as it is, I don't know if they'll fix it under warranty or not - but they do know about it and how to fix it.
Like the others have said this is a known problem and due to the age of your car the dealer will probably not fix it for free. I just had the dealer quote me a price to fix it and it was around $800.
I believe there is a guy on the Forum that will fix your assembly and the price is pretty reasonable if I remember. MR ERASER is the gentlemen's name; I have his email address and phone number so you can IM me if you are interested.
Someone did a home fix on this by jamming a 4 x 4 under the back of the seat. This isn't a solution for a car with multiple drivers, but it might work for you.
