LS3 starter
I did an LS3 swap into a C5, and the paperwork that came with the new crate LS3 stated that any parts needed should be ordered for a 2014 SS, and to use GM starter 10465385. Every web site I search indicates that starter will not work for a 2014 SS. Numerous sites state that they have starters that will work on all (LS1, 2, 3, 6, etc.) LS based engines.I purchased a Bosch (SR8581N), which bolted up fine but, it whirls 3 or 4 times before engaging with the flywheel. Once it engages, it sounds fine, and starts right up. I was thinking of trying to shim it out to see if that helps. I am tired of buying $300 starters that don't work, and was hoping someone can tell me which starter I need.

I would follow the paperwork listed, seems they stated any part order for 2014 SS but were quite specific on the starter. I wouldn't worry about that part number not crossing with the 14 SS. Did you try the GM part number they listed?
Maybe shop around on price, but pace lists this for LS3.
