I recently removed and repaired my HUD unit and DIC switch lights in my 2002 Coupe...before I did All the lights in the HUD control switch lit up now NONE of them do and I cant figure out why???
The up and down buttons page and all the rest of the buttons work so obviously the switch is getting power they just dont light up...is there a separate fuse anywhere that could have blown? I did have the battery disconnected

I did remove the cliuster to replace the bulbs on the DIC and Ive checked a couple of the IPC fuses and they were good every other gauge works and lights up

The bulbs in the switch are extremely tiny and if they were easy I would have changed them anyway even though they all worked before the ones in the DIC were big enough a pain and are much smaller

Make sure you plugged in the ribbon that goes to the HUD pod.
I went through this same thing and boy it was not fun.
So all the bulbs in the gauge cluster, DIC and HUD pods use mini halogen bulbs on T-sized plastic housings that twist in and make contact with 2 copper traces on the circuit boards for each bulb.
Sometimes they get loose, and sometimes the bulbs blow. I had a little bit of both. Sometimes I'd think everything was done, just to find out ONE bulb wasn't seated correctly or one bulb burnt out on ONE specific button.
That happened 3 or 4 times.
I eventually bought a few boxes of tiny mini bulbs and basically chose the ones that could take the voltage and replaced every bulb.
This included: Taking the old bulbs out of their plastic housings, putting in new ones/trimming the leads, making sure they had tension on the boards, and using a tiny flathead to channel the leads..

Thanks for the reply both ribbons the one from the HUD unit to the cluster and from the cluster into the HUD control switch are plugged in and tight with no signs of damage Ive also cleaned the contacts
All the HUD control buttons work as does the HUD I also tightened up the bulbs on the circuit board a little with a small flathead screwdriver after I saw they werent working anymore
They're probably blown. That's what I was implying by me having taken these out numerous times. Those fragile tiny, heat-cycled filaments either break or the bases aren't tight. No separate fuse that I'm aware of

Ok thanks I might try replacing 1 bulb first and see if it lights up even though you need baby hands and a tweezer to replace these bulbs
I basically disconnected the battery before I removed the cluster when all 4 bulbs were working... reinstalled the cluster and reconnected the battery and noticed they weren't working so Im at a loss how all 4 bulbs could have blown at the same time but I guess its not impossible
