A local dealer has installed this performance package on one of its new car for a markup of $7999. The wheels are Lowenhart and the front tires are Pirelli Pzero Rosso (245/35ZR-19) and the rear are Pirelli Pzero Rosso (285/30ZR-20).
You can purchase those wheels and tires for 6k. They should have put 285/30/20 rear tires on it, that's what I had :) The car has also been lowered. I like the looks of the car with the wheels
Close up they look pretty cool - from far away they arent anything special. The fact that it is lowered is more appealing than these "performance wheels"

I think it was a typo. If you look closely at the second pic I think it is a 285/30/20 on the rear. Not bad, but the money could be better spent.
not bad but for 8k  and how is that performance upgrade... also do it yourself and you can still sell the stofk rims and tires for 1k easy :yesnod:
Very nice looking car, those wheels with the spiral gray is a sharp combo. Not worth 8 grand, but sharp nonetheless. Also, not much of a performance upgrade, low profile tires like that are not optimal for traction. :nonod: The EMTs probably hook better. Those are purely for looks, love how low it sits though. :yesnod:
It's really surprising more dealers don't do things like this. That car parked next to a "normal" (all-stock) C5 in the showroom would most likely find an uninformed buyer in no time, just due to the much-improved "curb appeal".
Not that I'd do my mods this way, and yes, it's an easy way for the dealer to make mad profit, but another kicker is that you get all the mods the dealer tacks on wrapped into the financing. Maybe not important to the $60k car shopper, but if you fronted all your worth just to get the base car....those sweet rims and mods will be waiting a while for your bank acct to recover. This way it's all done and looking custom from the get-go.
On a simlar note, back in the "old" days...some dealers practically had their own model lines. Anyone remember the Yenko Camaro? What's one of those worth today? (far more than a modded Camaro you built in your garage). Not that this is the same comparison, just finding it funny no dealers do this anymore, since it seems like massive profits just waiting to be had....
