Traction Control Stuck On-Won't do burnout
We've fought a problem for many years with traction control issues. When it sets codes, the traction control acts completely different than most other's failures, in the fact that it gets stuck ON, instead of off. When this happens, the car will not do a burnout.
Normally shutting the car off and restarting will clear the code and the car will do a burnout. However, the last time at the drag strip, even shutting the car off would not clear the code. Even though the car wouldn't do a burnout, we still made the pass, and while 60ft went from a 1.46 to a 1.64, the car still ran a 10.70 at 130 mph.
Initially we had a code C1214, which seemed to point toward the EBCM. After reading numerous posts about their failure rate, we gave ABSFixer.com a try. We sent it to them, received it back and reinstalled, and while the C1214 code is gone, we have code C1277. While we have the same symptom, we have a different code.
C1277 CHEVROLET - Requested Torque Signal Circuit Malfunction
Tried unplugging the EBCM, car will still not do a burnout.
We already have our entry fee paid for tomorrow, but hope to find a way for the car to do a burnout. Anyone have any insight on what we should look for next?
