Oil Pressure

I picked up a 98 six speed vert Saturday with 71k miles. I get 24lbs oil pressure at idle but it just seems low to me with that many miles. My 92 six speed with over 90k miles hangs around 35 at idle. Should I be concerned?

24 pounds at hot idle is on the low side but does not appear to be a serious issue. If it gets worse, it may be evidence of a rebuild being wanted. If it stays there, well, 24 psi isn't really near oil starvation.

Do a blackstone oil analysis though.

change the oil then see what it is ???

change the oil sender, fixed mine.

Is that after a fresh oil change that you know is the correct viscosity? Also, ensure you have a proper filter on there.

Mine has always run that low at hot idle. It's waaaaaay within GM spec, so don't worry about it. I have switched to 10w30 in the summer to thicken it up a tad. I agree with the above, do an oil and filter change. It'll take at least 6.5 qts to refill.
