Hi all. I have a bone stock, <11,000 mile Z06. It is new to me fall of 2018.
I am noticing a "supercharger" type of whine, while accelerating hard (quickly through 3,000 to 6,000 rpms), mainly through gears 2-3-4. (and no, the whine is not coming from the passenger seat area :P)
No whine present, just revving the engine, in neutral. No wine present if I slowly accelerate and leave in gear (say 4500 in 1st, or 2nd or 3rd).
I can not tell where the sound is generally coming from.
Is this normal, or do I need to have this looked at?
I don't notice any unusual whining noise on my '03 C5Z. It would have to be a pretty loud to hear it over the stock exhaust while under hard acceleration.
Where does it sound like it’s coming from? I know my my fuel pump whines pretty loud. Also maybe it’s some sort of electrical whine? I had a buddy one time that had a loud whine that got louder with rpm’s turns out it was related to his stereo wiring.
