After my last 11 sec. run at the track i was politely asked to leave since I didn't have a roll bar soooooo......I though I would pick up a Breathless Performance roll bar and install it myself ....with a little help from my friends:rolleyes:
I mean how hard can it be? Any special tools? I have a heliarc welder and some tools ..any specific issues I need to know about
Re: Anyone install a rollbar ..need a how to! (wallstAL)
If you weld rather than bolt on I believe the gas tanks need to be dropped. When I had mine put in the vendor did not drop the tanks and they were damaged and leaking vapor; had to be replace (at their cost).

If you decide to go with a nice bolt-in, try www.wolferacecraft.com . They are a good looking and nice fitting unit with no welding required. I have helped with the install and it's definitely a DIY job
Re: Anyone install a rollbar ..need a how to! (TLewis4095)
It seems pretty straight forward..Only 4 points and all accessible. I'm thinking just a few tack welds in the holes provided in the flat supports..
Re: Anyone install a rollbar ..need a how to! (TLewis4095)
NHRA & IHRA require welded in to pass tech, but for just running they would probably not hassel you with a bolt in!
That is incorrect......
You can have a bolt in cage in our cars as long as there is a 6" square plate underneath to bolt it on to. Wolferacecraft provides this plate with all of its cages....the cage is legal up to 10.00......
The cage does have to be welded "together" but not welded in!

I have the Wolfe 5 point. Is was pretty annoying to put in the car. I had to remove the middle console, shifter to make it easier. We then bolted it in which wasnt that bad. I don't see how they can be welded, it's almost all plastic underneath, :D . I think your Breathless roll bar will not be so bad bad. I now have a problem....Some guy who was suppose to replace an Amp for my Bazooka tube blew out my Bose front and rear right speaker. Now I have to figure out how to change the rear speaker. ARGHHH :mad :mad That's gonna be a BITCH!!!!!!!!!

I assume the rollbar is touching or blocking the plastic piece to the rear speaker??? If not, then removal of the back speakers is a 2 min job very easy. The clearance needed is only about 1 inch but if you don't have it yes it will be a BITCH.

Can you run 11s with the 4-point Wolfecraft bolt-in? In other words, can I avoid having bars run across the doors (even if they are swing-out/removable)?

You can run a 11 legally with any of Wolfe's bars. That includes his 4 point...
binksZ06 - Thanks man....it is what I feel everytime I get in the car.
Pig - Don't you have to have a 6 point to be legal?
