Hello all. I'm replacing my original LS1 clutch with an LS7 clutch + flywheel, new slave, pilot bearing, and Tick remote bleeder. I also have a Tick master waiting to be installed. I measured the slave to fingers distances to see if a shim was needed, and had a net gap of 0.357". I had some 0.25" aluminum flat stock and made a shim, trying to button it up this weekend. The measurement after shim reduced the gap to 0.11" which Tick recommends, however the Tick remote bleeder fitting on the slave is now hitting the bellhousing when I install the torque tube. It seems to be a few hundreths of an inch too tall.
If the LS7 pressure plate is self-adjusting, does it really need a shim? Will the Tick master solve the gap issue via adjustments without the need for the shim? Or am I better off grinding the bellhousing down and keep the shim in?
