I need to move the stall converter bolt about 3-5 inches clockwise. I was turning the flywheel by wrenching on the bolt get the converter bots into the window access panel area. I am stuck about an inch from the access window and cannot get it to turn any more counterclockwise.
I tried to turn the flywheel in the opposite direction in order to get the converter plate into an 'unstuck' area to try and get a modified wrench on it one more time. However, when I try to wrench the flywheel bolt the other direction, the bolts comes loose. Could I JB weld the flywheel bolt so that it won't loosen when I torque on it counterclockwise , rather, it would turn the flywheel the other way with it. This would move the bolt from the 6:30 o'clock position to around the 9 o'clock position. I think its my best way to get a handle on the bolt.
I don't fully understand your problem. If it rotated to put the bolts in that position then it should be able to keep rotating to get them back out. The only reason I can think of that would cause your issue was that the converter was not fully against the flexplate when you put the bolts in finger tight and then when you rotated it the converter shifted forwards which is the equivalent of loosening the bolts. So, try pushing the converter backwards while rotating it. If that doesn't work then get. a proper tool that hooks onto the ring gear for rotating it or take the starter off and use a pry bar one tooth at a time. It might take some real force or 2 people, one prying backwards at the rear and another turning it at the front.
