I was the unfortunate victim of road debris last week that lead to a cracked front bumper. Simply to say my front bumper has seen better days and it's time for a replacement. Has anyone replaced their front bumper and is happy with their purchased replacement? I'm not sure if their is an actual aftermarket option that is good out there, I've heard bad things of some aftermarket bumpers (flimsy, thin). So far I'm inclined to by OEM from GMwholesaledirect.com https://www.gmwholesaledirect.com/oe...SABEgIwE_D_BwE Seems to be the cheapest that is still OEM Genuine GM, supposedly.
Has anyone gone through the front bumper replacement path to give me some recommendations?
I just recently purchased one actually - I got a genuine GM one from https://www.gmpartsonline.net/ for $338 with about $100 shipping.
It looks as GM as it can get with good packaging, I will be test fitting it later today before it goes to the paint shop.
order it through dealer and you may be able to dodge shipping costs....thats how I got my C6Z06 splitter ...its worth a shot
Thanks guys. This is exactly what I did. My bodyshop guy was able to get it through a local dealer and dodged shipping costs. I ended up getting it with his discounts for $360, GM Genuine PN 10433080

Did you finish the install? If so, did you have to cut a slit on your bumper on the bottom side, where the square holes are for the skid plate bar? I'm afraid this might be the only way to install the bumper so the skid plate bar doesn't "push down" on the bumper. My paintshop finished installing my new bumper but they warned me about this and showed me the old bumper had the slit cut whereas the new GM replacement did not come with the slit cut. They didn't want to cut the new one but I'm afraid we're going to have to because it just doesn't look right from the bottom.

Not completely finished yet but almost. I have the exact same thing, old one was cut and new one is not - yes you do need to cut it like the old one
I personally find it so odd that the GM genuine factory replacement front bumper needs to be cut to make it work. Why would GM not have this pre-slit from factory then? Could it be that maybe the bumper should've been installed simultaneously with the skid plate bar to slide the bar through the square holes of the bumper?
PS: After analyzing the skid plate bar, there is absolutely no way in hell to install the bumper any other way properly than to cut the slits. It came out perfect after the slits. The good thing is too that you can cut the slits on the bumper after installing it, in case you forgot to do it beforehand, and carefully accommodate the two folds over the skid plate bar.

Just got done priming an OEM bumper - I'm glad GM keeps it 1pc - much easier to sand, prep & paint. Slice at assembly or before base coat with a sharp utility knife! goes right through the plastic where there are grooves on the bottom side.
