Default Ls6 swapping Ls1 both 2002

Hi all, so I am still pretty new in the corvette world but I am going to be swapping my 2002 Ls1 corvette with an Ls6 from a 2002 Z06 corvette. I will be swapping over the long block from the Ls6 and then adding the accessories from my Ls1. I have done extensive research already, and I believe that everything should be a direct fitment since both are from 2002, and I believe the main differences externally were based on model year. Correct me if I am wrong though, that is why I am here asking. Also, any tips or anything for the swap would be greatly appreciated!

Can I ask what very well may be a foolish question? What is the purpose of doing this? Unless you blew your short block, didnt several 2002 base vetted come with the ls6 short block already? The differences would be heads and cam along with associated vavletrain parts right?

There is a softball sized hole in my block so I need a whole long block replacement.

Well that's a most excellent reason then.
If you have an LS6 ready to go in your 2002 Vette then from several things I've read, you had an LS6 block to begin with. So I would say everything will bolt right up.

Bought a LS6 crate motor from Scroggins Dickey. They were selling them for $3200 delivered, so I grabbed one. Direct bolt in except the PCV system is different. No big deal. It's peppier but changing the rear end to 3:42 gears and installing a 3000 rpm locking torque convertor made more of a difference. Just sayin. Good luck!

$3200 delivered for a crate LS6 sounds like a great deal. Nice!
