Recommendation for Bolt-on performance mods

I just purchased 99' FRC/MN6 which has visual mods; chrome Z06 wheels,exhuast plate & tips, shift ***. I want to get started on perf. mods but I don't have a lot of "cheeze" right now. I need a recommendation on entry level mods that I can get for around $500 -$1000 dead presidents !!

Please advise

Two best mods for the $$$ are air intake (vortex,tric,vararam,etc.) and exhaust(headers,long or short tube).Let the motor breath easier and you will make power alot easier. :cheers:

Get rid of the stock shifter.Anything is better than stock! :cheers:

Help it breath [intake] and exhaust [headers and cats]. Exhaust systems behind the cats sound much better but don't enhance performance.

Stephan, the baest bang for the buck mod...HANDS DOWN.. Gears!
For an MN6 get 3.90 or 4.10
The 4.10 will feel like a 50-70hp boost

They are $1195 and you will think you put a turbocharger in the car. Every other bolton has an array of opinions that vary..

Gears are the only mod everyone agrees upon that can be felt in the ASSoMETER!

Don't waste the $ on the exhaust or headers yet. You won't feel much improvement.

$200 bucks on a cold air type Vortex will be somewhat noticable..
