Default Heads and Shop

Looking for suggestions for heads on a 1998 C5 6 speed and a reliable shop (Houston-Woodlands area) to install them along with several small things as car has been driven very little in last 10 years. (47k actual miles)

Car already equipped with the following:
Fast 92mm intake
Comp Cam @
Duration @.050--intak @ .232 exh @ 234
valve lift @ .595 and .593
long tube headers and X pipe with Billy Boat Cats
currently has no catalytic converters but having them installed along with heads (if makes any difference)
In current form Dynoed tuned @ 405 HP and 380 torque.

Car will never see a drag strip but needs to be a reliable street and long trips driver.

Thanks,
Tom

I can’t make any recommendations on a shop, but for heads you have a few solid options. It all depends on what you’re looking to spend and the power levels you’re seeking. Entry level (budget minded) heads would be worked 243s from Texas Speed or send your existing heads to Advanced Inductions for their high compression 219CNC porting package. That’ll probably land you around 430-450rwhp with all the right supporting mods. Top shelf/max effort options would be TFS215s or AFR205s. Both of which will make really good power, but will cost about $1000+ more then the first two options. They’d land you anywhere from 450-490rwhp depending how crazy you get with compression.
