Broken starter ear
So,I got real lucky and the short ear on my starter broke off after the long bolt backed all the way out.Didn't break the block. What would be the right replacement starter so this won't happen again.I have seen some recommending a 5.3 L truck starter that has 2 long mounting bolts instead of 1 long and 1 short. Anybody have a part number or application for an upgraded starter or should I just stay with the stock style and use some blue loctite? Thanks guys,1997 LS1 coupe.All stock.

I recommend the bosch sr8581n, it is a truck starter with 2 long ears and it also comes with one long bolt so you don't have to buy a new one to replace the short bolt that came from your oem starter
