Hey Guys, I have an 01 Vette that's acting odd with the headlights. Last week, the driver side light would go down and then pop out a little bit so I had to turn the lights on and off again a second time to get it go down flush.
Now when I start the car, both of the headlights pop up regardless if the lights are turned off. I have to shut off the car and open the door for the lights to go back down. The driver side has also been going down flush each time now. Any ideas on what's wrong?

This behavior is typical of missing or damaged rubber bump stops (No. 4 in diagram below). Even if they look fine to the naked eye, they might be scored too deep. You might need to replace them (4 per side). You can get them here.
In addition to that, there is a TSB addressing those symptoms that calls for shimming the driver's side motor (No. 2 in diagram):

Twilight indeed!
Now it's not staying down at all anymore. I made a video of what it's doing. I'm thinking I'll just order the kit with the bump stops and washers. Anything else I should be looking at it? Here's a video of what's it doing...

As I mentioned in my previous post, your problem with the driver's side headlight seems to fit exactly what's covered in that TSB. In addition to that, I would replace the bump stops in the passenger's side as well (just don't add spacers to the right side).
Hello VDip, Just watched your vid. You have to tell me what you use to get that crazy shine on your Corvette....WOW!!!
I just had it detailed and buffed so that's why it looks so shiny, but I do use Auto Magic 49 Body Shine after washing or just after dusting off if it's not that dirty. If you are just looking for a quick application to keep your car shiny that stuff works wonders.
