I'm new on this thread. I did not did have the LMC5 installed unless it was part of the original recall. I did not do the brown wire mod either. I was hoping since l only get the warning and not a locked steering column that it is a programming issue.

I would install the LMC5 since the work done by the dealer does not solve the problem. Here is a link that will explain it better than I can:

If still not working, call Richard at Compliance Parts (855-565-8388). He is #1 with customer service. Hope you find the problem.

Based on his answers to my posts OP does not have LMC5 installed in his car.

When you figure how to eliminate the message please share. Contacting Richard has been a waste of time for me. I emailed compliance parts 2 weeks after I installed the LMC5 about the pull key message. No response. 2 weeks go by I send an email again with no response. Few weeks later I call and he answers. Told him the situation and he informed me the issue can be fixed. He was to send out a different unit that should work. Never received it. I gave up. 2 years later thought I'd try again. Emailed again and got a response. Reassured me this issue can be fixed. Exchanged a few emails, then nothing. In my situation he has been no help.

Default Steering Column Lock

Sorry to hear this. I will post any results once I determine the course of action. I have another contact who is extremely knowledgeable in all things Corvette as he is a restorer. I posed the issue to him regarding the LMC5 and am waiting for a response before I do anything.

Default Steering column loock

Thnx everyone for the replies regarding my steering column lock problem. I reached out to Richard at Compliance Parts (very cordial). We were supposed to reconnect later, but never did. I took everything a part reinstalled the LMC5 to no avail. Bought a new connector for BCM reconnected the LMC5 and it worked
