Default TTS LT Headers???

I've heard a lot about the TPIS headers, they seem to be the most popular. But does anyone have the TTS headers? They are a bit more expensive, but was wondering what everyone thought of them...

THanks in Advance

I love mine, much better constructed than the TPIS, great low end torque!

i have them on my mine. i love the quality and finish. but the cost of labor to install SUCKS! this is specific to TTS headers. however, the fit is not correct for '01 and up the dipstick has moved since when he designed and thus has to be either modified or changed out to the old design. if i had to do all over again i wouldn't buy them. i would either saved up for lg's headers or go with the rksport (same design as tpis except have flanges on the end)

I believe there are a couple of different part numbers. Perhaps you got a pre-01 set? Did you have these on your vert? I paid $300 for my install, which I was very happy with.

nope, they aren't a pre-2001. i didn't discover the problem until i went to put them on my Z. i called shawn at lapd and he said the same thing that the dipstick doesn't fit well on '01 up even with his design. unless you did it or were hanging out during the install whoever installed them may have swapped out the dipstick or modified like mine was. the one had the same problem after install.

Great Headers! Awesome sound, and definitely an improvement in the low end torque dept. Reason being the primaries are 1 5/8" versus 1 3/4" on the other guy's headers. No regrets so far, and the install was not an issue. I have an 02 coupe and my installer had no problems. He was very impressed with the thick flanges. Definitely quality workmanship!

These headers are very good, especially for a C5 that will never have more than a heads/cam package done do it. The slightly smaller diameter tubes really help with low RPM power, which is what you feel everytime you drive the car. The quality of the headers are excellent as well.> They have the thickest flanges on them I have ever seen on C5 LT Headers.. 1/2" at the head and 3/8" at the collector. They are jet-hot coated inside and out as well, and the welds are perfect.

I have heard that some shops say it takes an extra hour or so to install these over other LT Headers on a C5, but I have not experienced that. I have had mine off a number of times in my garage and didnt find it that difficult to get them back on.

If you decide you are interested in a set, we usually have them in stock so drop me an email!

best bang for the buck IMO.

amazing quality, welds, flange, coating....
properly tuned for a C5, even modified C5s.

plus, cant go wrong when dealing with MattG (Exit28 / ARE). Good guy!!!

I love my TTS LTs

other, much more expensive LTs might claim a few more hp... but at only the higher RPMS... TTS are excellent for power across the entire powerband....dont forget, area under the curve!!!!...

I hover worse than Joe :D, no problems to report with mine. I do remember him mentioning the dipstick issue although I didn't recall it being a big deal. :)

i used them on my 99 coupe. i was very disappointed with the loss of power over the TPIS which were on before the TTS. installation was the worst! the dipstick tube issue was never resolved. removing the starter and lifting the motor is not necessary with other headers, but was necessary with TTS headers. 02 bung placement was not well thought out either. just my .02...

TTS headers are much better quality wise than TPIS, but the 1 5/8 is too small in my opinion. i did feel a difference between the two sets of headers. ALL other header offerings (Belanger, TPIS, Stainless Works, LG, B&B, Lingenfelter, RK, DRM and a few others) are 1 3/4. Hmm, makes you wonder why everyone likes 1 3/4...

Stock displacement, stock head cam...mid range grunt boost..... all that = TTS and a :)

They were desgined as 1 5/8" tubes for the low/mid grunt...not a guesstimate of what they would do by SOTP.

hmm...so i guess all the other C5 tuners and manufacturers (mentioned above) are wrong in using 1 3/4 headers for stock displacement motors...
TTS's theory is, smaller diameter tubes help in low end and mid range. BUT, the reality is, NO ONE else agrees with TTS's design. Otherwise, you would see more 1 5/8 headers...but you dont.
you dont have to take my word or advice, but check around and see what everyone else is offering...

the larger primaries would be slightly more beneficial....that is....if u want to drive above 5K all the time....

remember....area under the curve...................

does anyone have any dyno charts for TTS or other headers?
