Below is a YouTube link I uploaded of a short 9 sec clip of me starting my C5.
only on the first start of the day (cold start), it seems to take longer. More choke kind of sound for a few seconds, then starts fine. The rest of the day it’s maybe half as long, or right away starts. Just the first start of the day...wondering what this could be?
im told the starters don’t really go on these, more likely fuel-pump? Filter? Etc?
Welcome to the Forum and congrats on your new purchase !!...I see your mechanic is going to be doing some repairs on your car and unfortunately there is no "choke" but I would have your mechanic check out your ECT sensor...how cold is cold on the first start up ??
Before starting the car you should hear the fuel pump come on for a couple of seconds, the fuel system may be losing pressure, try a second key off and back on sequence before starting your car, I do this every time just because my 97 seems to start just a little bit quicker when I do this.
