Wipers wont park
My wipers wont park . Car is a garage queen so the wipers don't get used much..I mean never!
Well today I thought I'd better test for the inspection and the things wont park..
Found some really good threads and vids on here so preceeded to strip it down. Really easy job and on inspection of the motor under the drive hub I found that it wont run in reverse.. my question is is there some electronics in the motor that make the thing run backwards and cause the drive hub to park the wipers... If so my motor only runs intermittent, on, full and momentary....NO REVERSE ?
Please let me know and I will get onto R**ks for a new one
Yes the motor is not reversing..I took the transmission plate off my unscrewing the torqs screw thus revealing the spindle and its doesn't reverse.
This is starting to make sense now..the electronics could be shot in the motor.
My fault..maybe I should have exorcised the wipers more..
I will get it all out onto the bench tomorrow and try and get inside the motor and electronics..maybe there is a spider in the there..lol

There must be some contacts in there that reverse the polarity for a few secs thus reversing the motor and actuating the reverse transmission to create the park position.. I looks complicated..a credit to GM
Grease had dropped onto the contacts in the electronics box under the wiper motor.
a bit of a cleanup with brake cleaner and oiled the park transmission, synchronised it to the arms and good to go..
Thanksguys..lot of useful info on these forums as usual
