Have a C5 Z06 that I use primarily for the track. It is stored in an enclosed trailer in a field with a bunch of cows guarding it. No place to plug it in so considering a solar battery tender. Seems pretty straight forward, and can get the parts to make sure it does not overcharge. Any experience with these? I have multiple plug in tenders at home for other cars and motorcycles and they work great. Also is there any reason/advantage to disconnecting the battery during storage? The car can sit for 3 weeks at a time in the summer and maybe 3 months in the winter. In the winter I will move something else to the trailer so I can work on the car during the cold months...
Jeff, if I were you I'd just remove the battery and store it indoors. If the car will be in the trailer at all especially in a field I'd make sure the trailer hasn't any holes in it....those critters can get into a 1/4 inch hole !!...always treat your tank with a gas stabilizer too...probably the only thing you might have to worry about in the spring is having to do an "idle relearn" !!

Appreciate your thoughts

Sorry but having young kids this makes me think of the movie "Barnyard".....Anyway, if you had no choice and had to leave it in the trailer I would disco the battery and do everything you can to keep the mice out. Hey, if a 1985 or so IROC Z can live in a trailer for like 30 plus years and still look new you should have no issues....
