I replaced the right rear sensor a couple weeks ago, re-trained the sensors and they were really slow to learn. Few days later I got the Service Tire Monitor warning, all sensors read xxx. Went out to play with it Tuesday night and discovered a dead battery. (Car sits most of the time, I only use it to drive to work, around 120 miles round trip, days that I am not riding in my van pool) After a full charge (Optima Red Top) I relearned the sensors, they trained quickly as they should. Left rear would not train. so I cleared out of the training. All tires reported pressure except the LR. I drove the car to work yesterday, about 20 miles into the trip, I again get the Service Tire Monitor warning, again all tires read xxx. My theory is that since the LR did not learn, the training never completed and then was voided after a period of time. I am assuming the LR sensor has also died, so I have another on the way. Will update when I get the new sensor in and programmed. Anyone else experience this type of thing? Ideas? Suggestions?
Theory proven. I replaced the LR sensor this morning and breezed thru the learning process. Used the car for errands today, around 5 stops, total of 22 miles and at least 1.5 hours of run time. No tire sensor warning. Fixt.
