Default Strange headlight situation

Can’t figure this one out. Never had a problem out of my headlights until I put led low beams in a couple years ago and I had issues on closing the buckets, which is normal and not a big deal, other than that I’ve had no problems. Well last week I turned my lights on but neither bucket would open and I could not hear the motor on either light, just a couple of popping sounds. I’ve tried several times with no luck, so today I unhooked the battery for a few mins and hooked it back up. Well now the passenger bucket will open but not the drivers side. I forgot to mention both high and low beams come on even when the buckets don’t open. I did notice a strange sound also while the passenger bucket is opening but then goes away... suggestions?!

So update on this... I took the rubber cap off of the motor and messed with the **** a little bit and now both buckets will open and close now but when you close them while on high beam the drivers side motor won’t shut off, but when you switch back to low beam it will stop.. what’s up with that?

Loaded and controversial question?? Please explain why..... maybe you didn’t understand the post because I was not asking whether or not I should use LED bulbs or not and which ones to go with. I am well aware of the debate on LED bulbs in halogen housings but I won’t get into that. I am simply asking if anyone can point me in the right direction on what to check first when the headlight buckets won’t open. I don’t necessarily think having LED bulbs is related to what I currently have going on but idk... this thread had absolutely nothing to do with bulb replacement as I am well aware of how to do that already. Geez I love this forum but sometimes the responses I see are ridiculous

No, I said a couple years ago after I put the led’s in I had the issue of closing, which is common and not really an issue cause all I have to do to close them is put them on high beam and they close fine. That was over two years ago and I’ve not had any other issues since then until now, which is that neither bucket will open. The issue is not closing them as I stated in my original post, it’s that they will not open. I actually took the bulbs out completely and still having the same problem.

IIRC this kind of problem can happen when the bump stops are worn. I would do a search for that and see what you can come up with. Easy fix.
