Re: Rear End Gear Ration (TriBlakC5)
If it's a 6 speed it's 3.42. If it's an automatic: 1700 RPM's at 70MPH = 2.73 and 1950 RPM's at 70 MPH = 3.15.

Here is a chart using the stock size rear tire & in OD on the highway. These are correct (I have 4.10's) and accurate to within the normal tach accuracies.
3.15 - 3.42 - 3.73 - 3.90 - 4.10 - 4.10 w/28.5"
Tire
45 MPH - 1298 - 1409 - 1536 - 1606 - 1689
50 MPH - 1442 - 1565 - 1707 - 1785 - 1876
55 MPH - 1586 - 1722 - 1878 - 1964 - 2064 - 1862
60 MPH - 1730 - 1878 - 2048 - 2142 - 2252 - 2030
65 MPH - 1874 - 2036 - 2219 - 2321 - 2440 - 2200
70 MPH - 2018 - 2191 - 2390 - 2499 - 2627 - 2369
75 MPH - 2163 - 2348 - 2561 - 2678 - 2815 - 2538

Red98C5, What gear is it in when referring to your chart? Or is the chart for an automatic?

Re: Rear End Gear Ration (TriBlakC5)
If it is an Auto then check your glove box. Inside there is a sticker that contains all of your option codes. If there is a G92 in the list then you have the performance axle ratio (3.15s), otherwise you have the POS 2.73s. If so throw them over a cliff and step up to the 3.42s....
If its a stick you have 3.42s...

Re: Rear End Gear Ration (TriBlakC5)
Thanks guys for the helpful info. Change gears to 3.42 ???? Will it be that noticable of a difference? How much does something like that cost?
