2004 Z 12v Power Source
Need to power my radar detector- I know older C5s had a spare power wire set in the passenger footwell- but not an 04. Anyone lead me to a good source for switched power?

This may seem like a dumb question - but what did you do with the second wire from the radar detector?

No question is dumb. That wire would be the ground wire. I just attach it to the fuse box which is already grounded.

There should be an unused breakout harness under the passenger side of the dash. Red, black, and yellow. Hot, switched, and ground.

I don't believe this exists in the 2004. I did have this in my 01 Z06.

It did not in my '04 and it was built in August '03.

Why not just pull power from the RV mirror? I did this for my V1 and it worked great - simple too.

My bad guys. I wasn't aware that they got rid of the accessory harness in the later year cars.
