ALL BORE OR STROKER ????
im thinking about a new set-up
with all the new sleeveing technology all bores can go 400+ cubes
or should i just go with a 383 stroker???
which one is better when it comes to hp/tq???

Re: ALL BORE OR STROKER ???? (brent eb02)
Brent,
The "all-bores" tend to make more HP vs. a "stroker" motor. The strokers tend to be a "torque" maker.
Of course a mix of them both should get the job done.
Julio, just got done dynoing a mild 418 that spun 510/498. I hope my 418 being a little more aggressive should be closer to 525/520
What are you getting bored??

Re: ALL BORE OR STROKER ???? (C5_PIG)
Brent, I know dragracing is a big interest of yours with this car so I would recommend going with an All-Bore... The stock crankshaft is more than capable of handling the RPM and HP/TQ an engine like this will make. The larger bore will help with unshrouding the valves, letting you rev nice and high to keep in your peak power making RPM range, and getting you many more cubes than a 4.0" stroker crank would.
However, if you are in a position to drop another $2000 or so into this engine, I would recommend dropping a 4.0" stroker crank in as well and make it a 422+ci.

Re: ALL BORE OR STROKER ???? (MattG)
I agree with Matt, if you can swing the extra money, go with a sleeved block, and a stroker crank. You will have the benefit of 427 cubes(HP and Torque) without having to spend $6000.00 on a C5R block.
