I have Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus (zero pressure). They say 51 psi max. I found a thread on here that say on avg. around 30 psi cold would be good. Is that still ok when the tire say 51 max? (just got the car)
Don't go to 51, It will ride hard and wear out your tires quickly.
Recommended tire pressure should be an the door jamb placard and in the owners manual. I have found with Michelin runflats that it is best to be on the low side of recommended (like 30 psig hot instead of cold), especially the rears, to avoid excessive center wear.
The 51 psi is just the highest pressure Michelin allows for that tire. "Correct" C5 TP (per the owner's manual) is 30 psi. If pressures go above 35 IIRC, and certainly below 25 the TPMS system will throw up warnings.
