I have a couple issues currently with my headlights, I figured out that I have a stripped gear on my driver side bucket but the other issue I still can’t figure out is that my buckets now open on a half turn (one click) of the light switch, instead of a full turn (two clicks). I have checked fuses and they are good. For the 8 years I have owned the car a half turn would only turn on the drl’s and also illuminate the interior lights... a full turn would open the headlight buckets. could this be a bad relay and if so where’s a good place to get a replacement?

Fix the headlight gear and replace the white bumpers on both sides of the headlight mechanism.
This will fix the issue.

Doing this will fix the issue of the buckets opening on the half turn of the switch?! I already know about replacing the gear, I just need to figure out why they are opening on a half turn of the switch instead of a full turn.

Just wanted to revive this thread with an update for anyone that might have the same situation. I replaced the headlight motor gear this evening and now the lights are working just like they’re supposed to, the buckets open now with a full turn of the switch.
