Default Still having ignition switch issues 2000 C5

Got my new ignition switch today, hooked everything up and the car started fine. I put the switch in the dash and through ignorance didn't notice the wires from the chip reader were between the switch and the dash. I tightened everything up before I noticed, put the key in the switch and it wouldn't turn. That's when I noticed what happened, took the switch out and re routed the wires, switch turns fine but car won't start. I removed the jacket from the wires at the point where they had been pinched thinking they were cut but they weren't. Does anyone have any idea where I should start? And what do I do now? Update: I can use a jumper wire and jump across the red and purple wire on what I'll call the anti theft relay under the passenger floorboard (that's how I got it home) and the car starts right up but immediately dies. Sounds like it's not reading the chip? Should I remove the switch and have a closer look at the wires from the chip reader? If they are cut can they be repaired? I'm at a complete loss here. It did initially start right up until I pinched the wires and hasn't started since.

If you pinched the wires and cut through the insulation you may have shorted something out. So I would check all the fuses. I would also read the DIC and see if there's any codes.

Thanks. I did indeed pinch the wires from the key chip reader but was able to remove it from the lock cylinder, open it up and splice them back together. I’ll need to replace it but suppose I’ll have to buy the entire lock cylinder to get just the plastic chip reader? Thanks for your help!!
