Peculiar(?) battery voltage gauge behavior
Hi. I’ve been away for awhile, but have an issue I’m hoping someone can help with. My wife has a ‘99 Base Convertible, and I have an ‘03 Z06. Upon start up, my wife’s car (with no current electrical issues) has a volt gauge that goes full high, then declines over a couple seconds to read apparent accurate voltage. My Z06 starts with the gauge at the bottom, and increases until apparent accurate voltage is read. Is this a model year change? Is this a difference in Z cars (I doubt)? Or is this an indication of a bad ground, or perhaps an alternator failure? I thought my gauge moved as my my wife’s does, but my memory isn’t certain. All help appreciated.
